The Sigma Superlatex Matt is an easy-to-apply product that ensures a perfect finish both indoors and outdoors. This product provides immediate coverage and has the highest scrub resistance class. Pros and Cons
- Easy to apply
- Excellent coverage
- Can be mixed in any colour
- Not available in dark colours
Which brush should I use?
For applying wall paint, it is important to choose the right brush. The right brush ensures the latex is applied evenly, with optimal absorption and release. We recommend the VP All Round Synthetic Brush, which contains the right combination of traditional pig bristles and selected synthetic fibres for the best result.
Which paint roller should I use?
Using a wall paint roller ensures a smooth and even finish. You don’t want to be picking lint out of your paintwork. The absorption and release of the roller are crucial. We recommend using the Toptex Wall Paint Roller for working with wall paint/latex. This roller performed best in our tests. Read more about which wall paint roller to use for your project.
When should I use it?
Some painters exclusively use Sigma products, as no other product meets their standards. Sigma Superlatex Matt can be applied to walls and ceilings indoors. Ultimately, it is a first-class wall paint typically used in high-traffic areas.
What is the coverage per m²?
The coverage of Sigma is 7 to 8 m² per litre. However, our experience shows that most painters achieve a coverage of 7 to 8 m² per litre. It’s better to have a little too much paint than too little.

What Makes This Product Suitable for Ceilings?
For ceilings, we always recommend a wall paint specifically developed for ceilings. This is because very specific properties are required. A "normal" wall paint does not always have these properties. What are the important properties for a ceiling? Coverage is crucial for ceilings and must always be the highest class (class 1). If it is a lower class, the chances of streaks and lines are much higher. Additionally, drying time is important. A wall paint that dries quickly (contains a lot of chalk) will create streaks and lines, which are always visible on a ceiling when viewed in direct light. This is called grazing light. A wall paint that dries slowly and evenly solves this problem.
Which Surfaces Is It Suitable For?
This wall paint is suitable for multiple surfaces. For absorbent surfaces, always apply a primer first. Suitable for: Concrete, Plaster, Plasterboard, Brick, Renovlies wallpaper, Fibreglass wallpaper, Masonry, Interior walls, Exterior walls.
What Is Grazing Light?
Grazing light is visible when you look at the ceiling in direct light. Grazing light is problematic when using wall paint with a high chalk content. These types of products provide good coverage but dry too quickly, causing some layers to be double-rolled. This creates a thickening that remains visible when viewed directly in the light. TIP: Always choose a wall paint with a slow drying time for ceilings to avoid this problem.
Which Surfaces Can It Be Applied To?
This wall paint is suitable for multiple surfaces. For absorbent surfaces, always apply a primer first. Suitable for: Concrete, Plaster, Plasterboard, Brick, Renovlies wallpaper, Fibreglass wallpaper, Masonry, Interior walls.
Pre-Treatment
Before starting your project, we recommend always cleaning the surface. For example, use St Marc degreaser. Regardless of the surface you are treating, whether concrete, wood, stone, or wallpaper, always clean it first to ensure the best adhesion.
Do I Need Primer?
Before treating your wall with wall paint/latex, it is important to determine whether you need primer. The good news is that you can figure this out yourself by doing a simple test. Take a wet sponge and press it against the wall. If the wall absorbs the water, a primer is needed first. If the wall does not absorb moisture, no pre-treatment is required. For more tips and to learn how to determine this, check out our blog on applying primer.
