One common misconception is that linseed oil-based paints or stains cannot be repainted—this is not true! Linseed oil often cures more slowly, offering greater flexibility to expand and contract, a significant advantage for older structures.
However, there are some drawbacks. Linseed oil products, including Koopmans Perkoleum, often have slower drying times and may feel sticky in warm weather. At colder temperatures, its drying and curing become less effective. Avoid applying Koopmans Perkoleum when the ambient temperature is below 6 degrees Celsius.
