For outdoor work, alkyd lacquer is the ideal product. This lacquer is more resistant to weather influences, giving it a longer lifespan compared to water-based products.
What is the consumption per m²?
The consumption of Sigma paints is 12 to 16 m² per liter. However, our experience shows that most painters achieve a consumption of 10 to 12 m² per liter for Sigma paint. It’s better to have a little too much paint than too little.

Which gloss do you recommend?
For outdoor lacquer, high gloss is the most suitable. High-gloss lacquer has a longer lifespan because its smooth surface attracts less dirt. Additionally, it is easier to clean. Gloss is always indicated with a number. High-gloss lacquer has a gloss level of 60 to 90. Satin gloss has a gloss level of 30 to 60, and matte paint should remain below 30.
These values are measured by the manufacturer. In some cases, we recommend satin gloss lacquer. This is advised when the surface is not 100% perfect, as minor imperfections are less visible with satin gloss paint.
High gloss (60-90): Ideal for outdoor work
Satin gloss (30-60): Ideal for uneven surfaces
Matte paint (below 30): Ideal for indoor work
Which primer do I need?
Primer and undercoat serve the same purpose. They ensure good adhesion of the final product. Additionally, they are cost-effective for absorbent surfaces. A primer makes surfaces less absorbent, allowing more square meters to be covered per liter of paint. This ultimately results in the best finish and cost savings.
