Sigma S2U Satin
Sigma S2U Satin is a satin gloss topcoat based on PU. We can mix this paint in any possible color. The Sigma S2U Satin can be applied to all types of wood, steel, non-ferrous metals, and various plastics that have been pre-treated (primed/undercoated) according to the regulations. This paint is intended for outdoor use and is a premium brand product of very professional quality. This Sigma product has very high coverage with excellent flow and provides protection for up to 8 years.
Sigma S2U Satin can be easily cleaned with your usual household cleaning products. The ideal application temperature is 5-30 degrees Celsius, and the humidity should not exceed 85%. Under ideal conditions (20 degrees), this paint is recoatable after 18 hours and dust-dry after 2 hours. A major advantage of this paint is that it is ready to use and does not need to be diluted.

Which brush do I need?
For applying alkyd paint and lacquer, it is important to choose the right brush. With the right brush, the paint is applied evenly with optimal absorption and release. We believe that the VP Gold Mix Brush has the right fibers for the best end result. This brush is made up of various fibers, a combination of traditional pig bristles and a selection of synthetic fibers.
Which roller do I need?
With a roller, it is desirable to create a smooth and even finish. You don’t want to be fishing lint out of your paintwork. Absorption and release are essential here. We recommend using the Copenhagen Pro Lacquer Roller or the Anza Felt Roller for working with alkyd paint or lacquer.

Sigma S2U Satin is most suitable for protecting doors and frames against weather and wind. Sigma S2U Satin is an easy-to-apply product for both professionals and DIY enthusiasts.

For outdoor work, alkyd paint is the ideal product. This paint is more resistant to weather influences, giving it a longer lifespan than water-based products.
What is the consumption per m²?
The consumption of Sigma paints is 12 to 16 m² per liter. However, our experience shows that most painters achieve a consumption of 10 to 12 m² per liter for Sigma paint. It’s better to have a little too much paint than too little.

Which gloss do you recommend?
For outdoor lacquer, high gloss is the most suitable. High gloss lacquer has a longer lifespan because the surface is smooth, which means less dirt adheres to the lacquer. Additionally, it is easier to clean. Gloss is always indicated with a number. A high gloss lacquer should have a gloss level of 60 to 90. Satin gloss has a gloss level of 30 to 60, and matte paint should remain below 30.
These values are measured by the factory. In some cases, we recommend satin gloss lacquer. We do this if the surface is not 100%, and less experienced DIYers often choose this because any mistakes are almost invisible with satin gloss paint.

Which primer do I need?
Primer and undercoat are the same and serve the same purpose: ensuring good adhesion of the final product. Additionally, it is cost-saving for absorbent surfaces. A primer makes surfaces less absorbent, allowing more square meters to be covered with a liter of paint. This will ultimately result in the best finish and save costs.
Are there alternatives?
Sigma offers various topcoats of the highest quality. Of course, there are also other brands and products, sometimes even at a favorable price. For example, Nelf offers the Nelf Caraat SB, and you can choose our own brand VP Platina SB. These are good alternatives because these products have the same and/or better properties and features. For instance, the Nelf Caraat SB has a lifespan of 8 years. The VP Platina has the same properties as the AZ but offers a better price/quality ratio.
