Sigma S2U Nova Primer is a water-based acrylic primer. This ensures better adhesion to your surface and lacquer, resulting in a superior final finish. Additionally, this primer won’t produce odours in your home as it is water-based. We can mix this primer in any colour. It serves as a primer for wood, hard PVC, and other plastics (excluding polyolefins such as PE and PP), concrete, plaster, etc. It is also suitable for cleaned and sanded alkyd resin paint layers.
This primer is intended for indoor use. As a premium brand product of professional quality, it is widely used by painting companies and professional painters due to its reliability, quality, and long lifespan. This primer is ready to use and does not need to be diluted. However, if preferred, you can dilute it with water or an acrylic thinner.

What is the coverage per m²?
The coverage of Sigma lacquers is 12 to 16 m² per litre. However, our experience shows that most painters achieve a coverage of 10 to 12 m² per litre with Sigma lacquer. It’s better to have a little too much paint than too little.

What is LTA+ Technology?
The LTA+ technology acts as a shield thanks to its special binder combinations. This shield protects the lacquer from skin oils and wear. Skin oils have minimal effect on the paint layer, and any oils that do penetrate do not adhere to the lacquer. Thanks to LTA+, the lacquer remains extremely hard even after prolonged exposure to skin oils. Ideal for homes with active lifestyles.
Which Gloss Level Do You Recommend?
There is no gloss level for a primer. However, for your lacquer, you can read our recommendations below. For exterior lacquer, high gloss is the most suitable. High gloss lacquer has a longer lifespan. The surface is smooth, which means less dirt adheres to the lacquer. Additionally, it is easier to clean. Gloss is always indicated with a number.
A high gloss lacquer should have a gloss level of 60 to 90. Satin gloss has a gloss level of 30 to 60, and matte paint should remain below 30. These values are measured by the manufacturer. In some cases, we recommend satin gloss lacquer. This is advised when the surface is not 100% perfect. Less experienced DIYers also often choose satin gloss paint as it hides minor imperfections more effectively.

Which Primer Do I Need?
