Nelf Nelfalite Xtreme PU Satin is a satin-finish lacquer based on Alkyd (turpentine). It is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. This lacquer is designed for finishing wood, metal, and various hard plastics that have been properly pre-treated (primed). Nelfalite Xtreme PU Satin offers excellent opacity and smooth application, providing up to 8 years of protection. Additionally, we can mix this lacquer into any colour of your choice.
The Nelf Nelfalite Xtreme PU Satin is easy to clean with standard household cleaning products.
The ideal processing temperature for this lacquer is between 5 and 30 degrees Celsius, with a maximum humidity of 85%. Under optimal conditions (20 degrees Celsius), it is recoatable after 18 hours and touch-dry after 2.5 hours.

Which brush should I use?
To apply alkyd paints and lacquers, it’s essential to choose the right brush. A good brush ensures smooth application with optimal uptake and release of paint. We recommend the VP Gold Mix Fibre Brush, which combines traditional pig bristles with synthetic fibre for the best results.
Which paint roller do I need?
When using a roller, it’s important to achieve a smooth, even finish. Nobody enjoys removing lint from freshly painted surfaces. Proper absorption and release are critical. For working with alkyd-based paints or lacquers, we recommend the Copenhagen Lacquer Roller or the Anza Felt Roller.

Advantages of Alkyd lacquer
For exterior work, alkyd lacquer is the ideal product due to its better resistance to weather conditions, which results in a longer lifespan compared to water-based products. Typically, alkyd lacquers may yellow when used indoors; however, if you plan to use it inside, ensure it contains an "anti-yellowing additive" to prevent discolouration.
What is the paint coverage per m²?
The coverage of Nelf lacquers is usually between 12 and 16 m² per litre. From our experience, most painters achieve a coverage of around 10 to 12 m² per litre with Nelf lacquers. It’s better to have a little extra paint than not enough.

Which gloss level do you recommend?
High-gloss finishes are the best choice for outdoor lacquer work due to their durability. The smooth surface resists dirt and is easy to clean. Gloss levels are measured numerically:
High-gloss (60–90): Ideal for exterior surfaces
Satin-gloss (30–60): Great for uneven surfaces
Matte (below 30): Perfect for interiors
For less-than-perfect surfaces or beginners, satin-gloss can be a good alternative because it hides minor imperfections effectively.
Which primer should I use?
Primer or undercoat serve the same purpose—to ensure proper adhesion of the topcoat. Primers are very effective on absorbent surfaces, reducing the amount of paint required. They help achieve the best results while saving costs in the long term.
