- No primer needed
What is Seal-it 216 Silicon-SA Sealant used for?
Seal-it 216 Silicon-SA is designed for spaces exposed to extreme temperatures, such as saunas or freezers. It is also suitable for damp areas like bathrooms, providing mould-resistant joint sealing solutions.
What is the consumption rate per m² for this product?
Estimating the consumption of a sealant can be challenging. Nevertheless, you can calculate the required volume using this simple formula, which considers the following factors: joint length x joint height x joint depth = the needed amount of sealant (ml). For example, to seal a joint that is 5 metres long, 10 millimetres high, and 5 millimetres deep, calculate as follows: 5 x 10 x 5 = 250 millilitres of sealant. On average, assuming a seam thickness of 4 to 5 mm, the coverage will be between 12 and 19 linear metres per cartridge.
How should I apply Seal-it 216?
You can apply the sealant using a caulking gun:
- Use a utility knife to cut off the tip of the cartridge.
- Attach the nozzle to the cartridge opening.
- Cut the nozzle at an angle, ensuring the opening matches the desired joint width.
- Place the cartridge in the caulking gun.
- Squeeze a bead of sealant in a consistent, even motion from left to right, avoiding excess.
- Moisten your finger with soapy water and gently smooth the bead of sealant. Avoid applying too much pressure to maintain a sloped seam for water drainage.
