VP Transparent Primer
VP Transparent Primer is an easy-to-use acrylic primer of professional quality. VP Transparent Primer can be applied to any lightly absorbent and/or powdery surface and is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. VP Transparent Primer is water-thin, immediately stopping the surface from absorbing moisture.

When should I use Primer?
VP Transparent Primer is used on lightly absorbent surfaces and plastered walls. It deeply strengthens the substrate and stops absorption. Primer should always be used on untreated surfaces such as plasterboard, plastered walls, brick, cement, or concrete (not in all cases). This Transparent Primer is ideal for lightly absorbent surfaces. For highly absorbent surfaces, we recommend a fixative (water-thin). This Transparent Primer is not suitable for hard, non-absorbent surfaces, such as spackled areas or joints treated with a finish, where the primer cannot adhere. For questions, always contact customer service and perform a test patch.
What is the coverage per m² for this product?
For primers, determining coverage is particularly challenging as it highly depends on the substrate’s absorbency. VP Transparent Primer has a coverage of 50 to 70 m² per 10 litres.
Pre-treatment
Before starting your project, we recommend cleaning the surface thoroughly. You can use products like St. Marc degreaser for this. Regardless of the surface type, whether concrete, wood, stone, or wallpaper, always clean it to ensure optimal adhesion. Always create a test patch first to ensure the primer performs as expected.
What brush is recommended for wall paint?
We recommend using a block brush to apply VP Transparent Primer. Its water-thin consistency makes it easier to work with using this type of brush.
What paint roller should I use?
For wall paint, achieving a neat and even result is desirable. You don’t want to end up picking lint out of your paintwork. Good absorption and release are key.
