Pros and Cons
- Water-thin consistency
- Fast drying
- Suitable for powdery surfaces
- Does not provide coverage
When should I use Sigmafix?
Sigmafix Universal is ideal for absorbent surfaces that need to be treated with Sigma wall paint. Sigmafix Universal is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. Primer should always be applied to untreated surfaces such as plasterboard, plastered walls, brick, concrete (not in all cases), and cement.
What is the coverage per m² of this product?
Determining the coverage for primer is very difficult as it strongly depends on the absorbency of the surface. Sigmafix has an average coverage of 30m² per 5 litres, but this can be higher for highly absorbent surfaces and lower for non-absorbent surfaces.
Which surfaces is this product suitable for?
This wall paint is suitable for multiple surfaces. For absorbent surfaces, always apply a primer first. Suitable for: Concrete, Plaster, Plasterboard, Brick, Renovation fleece wallpaper, Fibreglass wallpaper, Masonry, Interior walls, Exterior walls.
Surface preparation
Before starting your project, we recommend always cleaning the surface. For example, use St Marc degreaser. Regardless of the surface you are treating, whether it’s concrete, wood, stone, or wallpaper, always clean it first to ensure optimal adhesion.
Which brush should I use for wall paint?
We recommend using a block brush for applying Sigmafix Universal. Due to the water-thin consistency of Sigmafix Universal, it can be a bit tricky to apply.
Which paint roller should I use?
Using a wall paint roller ensures a smooth and even finish. You don’t want to be picking lint out of your paintwork. The absorption and release of the roller are crucial. We recommend using the Toptex wall paint roller for working with wall paint/latex. This roller performed best in our tests. Read more about which wall paint roller to use for your project.
