Do I need a primer?
Before painting your wall with latex/wall paint, it’s important to determine if you need a primer. You can easily find out by conducting this test. Take a wet sponge and press it against the wall. If the water is absorbed, a primer is required. If the wall doesn’t absorb water, no pre-treatment is necessary. Want more tips? Read our blog on applying primer.
Which brush should I use for wall paint?
Using the correct brush for wall paint ensures even application, with optimal absorption and release of the paint. We recommend the VP Synthetic All-Round brush, which is made with a blend of traditional pig bristles and selected synthetic fibres for the best results.
Which paint roller should I use?
For a smooth and even finish, a wall paint roller is essential. No one wants to pick fluff out of their paint job. Absorption and release are key here. We recommend the Toptex wall paint roller, which comes out best in our tests. Learn more about the best wall paint roller for your project.
