What is VP Platinum Switching Paint used for?
VP Platinum is ideal for protecting all types of woodwork, such as doors and window frames. This lacquer is user-friendly and suitable for both professionals and DIY enthusiasts.
Why should I choose an alkyd-based lacquer?
For outdoor work, alkyd lacquer is the ideal product. It offers better resistance to weather conditions, giving it a longer lifespan compared to water-based paints. Typically, alkyd paint tends to yellow when used indoors. If you wish to use alkyd paint indoors, make sure it contains a “dark yellowing resistance” formula to prevent discolouration indoors.
What is the coverage per m² for this product?
The coverage of VP lacquers is between 12 and 14 m² per litre. However, in our experience, most painters achieve a coverage of 10 to 12 m² per litre. It’s always better to have slightly more paint than too little.
What colours can this product be mixed in?
We can mix any desired colour using our colour mixing system. To select your preferred shade, simply use our colour picker or contact us. For mixing VP lacquers and paints, we use the proper machines with official pigments.
Which brush should I use for alkyd lacquer?
When applying alkyd lacquer or paint, choosing the right brush is crucial. The proper brush ensures even application and optimal absorption and release. We recommend the VP Platinum Mix Fibre brush, crafted from a combination of traditional bristles and selected synthetic fibres, for the best results.
Which paint roller should I use?
The aim of using a roller is to achieve a smooth and even finish. You don’t want to fish lint out of your paintwork, so absorption and release are key. We recommend using the Copenhagen felt roller or the Anza felt roller for working with alkyd lacquers or paints.
