What makes VP Ceiling Finish perfect for ceilings?
We always recommend a wall paint specifically designed for ceilings, as they require unique properties that standard wall paints may not have. Key features for ceilings include excellent coverage (class 1) to prevent streaks and bands. Slow and even drying is also critical, as quick-drying paints (often containing a lot of lime) may result in visible streaks under side lighting. VP Ceiling Finish avoids these issues by drying slowly and evenly.
What surfaces is this product suitable for?
This wall paint is compatible with various surfaces. For porous surfaces, apply a primer first. Suitable for concrete, plaster, plasterboard, brickwork, Renovlies wallpaper, fibreglass wallpaper, masonry, interior walls, and exterior façades.
How should I prepare the surface?
Before starting your project, we recommend thoroughly cleaning the surface with a product like St Marc degreaser. No matter the surface – concrete, wood, stone, or wallpaper – cleaning ensures optimal adhesion.
Do I need a primer?
Before applying wall paint or latex, test to see if a primer is required. Press a wet sponge against the wall. If the wall absorbs the water, apply a primer first. If not, no pre-treatment is needed. For more tips on applying primer, check out our blog on primer application.
What brushes do I need for wall paint?
It’s essential to choose the right brush for applying wall paint. The VP all-round synthetic brush, made from a blend of traditional hog hair and synthetic fibres, ensures an even application for the best results.
What paint roller should I use?
For an even and smooth finish, select the right wall paint roller. Avoid lint left behind by choosing a roller with excellent paint absorption and release. We recommend the Toptex wall paint roller, our top performer. Learn more about which roller to use for your project.
