VP Platina Exterior Stain
VP Exterior Stain is a semi-gloss durable opaque stain based on alkyd resin. This stain is flexible and particularly suitable for treating garden sheds, but it can also be efficiently applied as a one-pot system on window frames and doors. VP Exterior Stain has a beautiful satin finish, is moisture-regulating, and water-repellent. Thanks to its UV filter, this stain is well-suited to protect against UV radiation from the sun.

Where can I use VP Exterior Stain?
VP Exterior Stain is ideal for protecting garden sheds and pergolas. This stain is durable, moisture-regulating, and water-repellent.
What is the consumption per m² of this product?
The consumption of VP Exterior Stain depends on the substrate. Since this stain is a one-pot system, no primer is required, which results in higher consumption for the first coat compared to the second. The average coverage is 10 to 12m². The manufacturer indicates 14m² per litre.
What colours are available for VP Exterior Stain?
We can mix any desired colour using our colour-matching system. To create your desired colour, you can easily select a shade using our colour chooser or contact us. For mixing VP lacquers and paints, we use state-of-the-art machines with the corresponding official pigments.
Can VP Exterior Stain be applied directly to bare wood?
Yes, VP Exterior Stain can be applied directly to bare wood. We recommend applying two coats on bare, untreated wood. If the previous paint layer is still in good condition, this stain can be applied directly over it.
Is VP Exterior Stain repaintable?
Yes, this is no problem at all. Always degrease and lightly sand the surface first. Despite being solvent-based, it can be repainted with other brands if desired.
What brush should I use for alkyd lacquer?
When applying alkyd paint and lacquer, it is important to choose the right brush. The right brush ensures even application with optimal absorption and release. We believe the VP Platina Mixfiber brush contains the ideal fibres for the best results. This brush is made with a mix of traditional pig bristles and selected synthetic fibres.
What paint roller should I use?
For a smooth, even finish, a roller can be the ideal tool. You don’t want to deal with fluff in your paint job. Proper absorption and release are key. We recommend using the Copenhagen velvet roller or the Anza velvet roller when working with alkyd paint or lacquers.
More about this product
VP Exterior Stain is available in high-gloss and satin finishes. High gloss has a shine level of 60 to 90, whereas satin gloss ranges from 30 to 60. Satin hides imperfections better, while high gloss is easier to clean and repels dirt more effectively.
