What is Seal-it 115 Top Acrylic Sealant used for?
Seal-it 115 is specially developed as a rain-resistant sealing, filling, and repair product. It is ideal for sealing, filling, and repairing gaps, shrinkage seams, cracks, and holes in outdoor areas exposed to precipitation. This sealant is exclusively intended for exterior use.
What is the consumption rate per m² for this product?
Estimating sealant consumption can be challenging. However, you can calculate the required volume using a simple formula that considers the following variables: joint length x joint height x joint depth = necessary amount of sealant (ml). For instance, to seal a joint that is 5 metres long, 10 millimetres high, and 5 millimetres deep, multiply these three values (5 x 10 x 5 = 250 millilitres of sealant). On average, we estimate seam thickness between 4 and 5 mm, resulting in coverage of 12 to 19 linear metres per cartridge.
How should I apply Seal-it 115 Top Acrylic?
You will need a caulking gun to apply the sealant. Simply follow these steps:
- Use a utility knife to cut off the tip of the cartridge.
- Screw the nozzle onto the cartridge opening.
- Cut the nozzle at an angle to achieve an opening size that matches your desired joint width.
- Place the cartridge into the caulking gun.
- Apply the sealant in a steady, even movement, from left to right. Avoid using too much sealant.
- Dip your finger into soapy water and gently smooth the applied bead of sealant using your finger. Avoid applying excessive pressure, as the seam should remain sloped for water drainage.
