Nelf Nelfalite Xtreme Gloss
Nelfalite Xtreme Gloss is a lacquer suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. This lacquer can be mixed into any colour you desire. For painters who prefer not to work with water-based paints, Xtreme Gloss is an excellent choice. Thanks to its resistance to yellowing, this turpentine-based lacquer is much less prone to discolouration over time. Nelfalite Xtreme Gloss features high opacity, excellent flow, and offers up to 6 years of protection.
Nelfalite Xtreme Gloss is easy to clean with your usual household cleaners. The ideal application temperature is between 5–30 degrees Celsius, with a maximum humidity of 85%. Under optimal conditions (20 degrees Celsius), the lacquer is ready for recoating after 18 hours, allowing you to complete your project over the weekend. Another major benefit of this lacquer is that it comes ready to use, requiring no thinning.
We are an authorised Nelf dealer and have the Nelf mixing machine on-site. Nelf was one of the first paint manufacturers in the Netherlands to use electricity in paint production. Since its early days, Nelf has been dedicated to the professional market. Its products have been used to provide protective coatings for carriages, shops, homes, commercial spaces, and factories. Today, Nelf has grown into one of the leading paint brands for professionals.

Which brush should I use?
When applying Alkyd paint and lacquer, it’s essential to choose the right brush. A suitable brush ensures even application, with optimal absorption and release. We recommend the VP Gold Mix Fibre Brush, which combines traditional pig hairs with a selection of synthetic fibres for the best results.
Which paint roller do I need?
To achieve a smooth and even finish, the proper roller is key. Nobody wants to pick lint out of their paintwork. Absorption and release are essential factors. For Alkyd-based paints or lacquers, we recommend the Copenhagen Lacquer Roller or the Anza Felt Roller.
When should this product be used?
Nelfalite Xtreme Gloss is ideal for protecting all types of external woodwork, such as doors and window frames. It is easy to work with, making it suitable for both professionals and DIY enthusiasts alike.
Advantages of Alkyd lacquer
For outdoor projects, Alkyd lacquer is the perfect choice. It offers better resistance to weather conditions and has a longer lifespan compared to water-based alternatives.
What is the paint coverage per m²?
The coverage of Nelf lacquers typically ranges from 12–16 m² per litre. However, most painters report an average coverage of 10–12 m² per litre. It’s always better to have a little extra paint than to run out near the end of a project.
Which colours can it be mixed into?
We can mix Nelfalite Xtreme Gloss into any colour you like using our advanced mixing system. Simply select your preferred shade in our colour picker or contact us directly. Popular colour choices for this lacquer include:
Most popular colours
We can create any colour you want. The most popular shades for this product are:
RAL 9001 (off white)
RAL 9010 (cream white)
RAL 9016 (traffic white)
Some other commonly chosen colours include:
RAL 9005 (jet black)
RAL 7016 (anthracite grey)
RAL 7021 (black grey)
RAL 6009 (pine green or heritage green)
RAL 3005 (wine red)
Which gloss level do you recommend?
High-gloss is the best choice for outdoor lacquers. It has a longer lifespan, as its smooth surface is dirt-resistant and easy to clean. Glossiness is always measured on a scale:
High-gloss (60–90): Best for outdoor use
Silk gloss (30–60): Ideal for uneven surfaces
Matt (below 30): Suited for interior use
For imperfect surfaces, or for beginners, silk gloss is an excellent alternative, as it can help mask small imperfections more effectively than high-gloss options.
Which primer should I use?
Primer and undercoat serve the same purpose—they ensure proper adhesion of the top coat. Additionally, they can reduce costs on absorbent surfaces by preventing excessive paint absorption, enabling more square metres to be covered with less paint.
